About Details

A product-data engine built on one belief: buying decisions should be made on structured specifications and price history, not marketing copy.

What Details is

Details is an independent comparison engine for high-consideration products — robot vacuums, espresso machines, air purifiers, 3D printers, and other categories where the spec sheet actually matters. Every product in our database is stored as strictly typed, normalized specifications, which lets us compare products number-to-number instead of paragraph-to-paragraph. We track prices daily, chart their history, and tell you plainly whether now is a good time to buy.

How the content is made

Product data comes from retailer APIs and manufacturer specifications, then goes through a normalization pipeline that converts free-text specs into structured, comparable values. Comparison verdicts and buying guidance are drafted with the help of AI models that analyze that structured data — the same numbers shown on the page — and are reviewed and corrected by a human editor. When data is missing, we say so; we never invent a specification. The full process, including how the Details Score is calculated, is documented on our methodology page.

How the site makes money

Details participates in the Amazon Associates program. If you buy a product through one of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the site's only revenue source: there is no sponsored content, brands cannot pay for placement or better scores, and affiliate economics never influence rankings — scores are computed by formula from the same data you see on the page.

Who runs it

Details is independently built and operated — a small operation with a big data pipeline, not a content farm. Questions, corrections, or product suggestions are genuinely welcome: reach us on X @detailsio. If you spot an incorrect spec or price, tell us and we will fix it.
